    1. Thank you for being interested in our Maryland Board of Nursing Medication Technician Training Program. The training is being provided under Assisted Living. Once a person becomes certified as a CMT, it’s the licensed agency/provider to make sure the certified professional is thoroughly trained in that field. A person certified as a CMT may practice in any field requiring a certified professional to administer medications.

Hi. I’m very interested in this class. However, I am currently unemployed and cannot afford it, are there any grants?
        Thanks

        1. Thank you for being interested in our Maryland Board of Nursing Certified Medication Technician Training Program. Unfortunately, we do not know of specific grants; however, our training is classified as “Job Readiness Training” in which agencies such as local social services have funded the training cost for their customers. If you’re currently a recipient/customer receiving funding from a grant funded agency such as but not limited to social services, we suggest inquiring with the case worker. I hope this information was helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions.

I am a CMA currently holding a license in Florida I am moving to Maryland and want to work as a CMA. If I have to do the program again I will, so when is the next class available and what are the steps. Please and Thank You.

    1. Thank you for contacting us and being interested in our Maryland Board of Nursing 20-hour Certified Medication Technician Training Program. Our medication training program certify participants as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT), which is another state certification in Maryland, which is authorized to administer medications in a community setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse certified as a Case Manager Delegating Nurse. A Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) is a MBON certification which is authorized to administer medications in a community setting and Long Term care setting. However, a CMA would not be able to renew their CMA certification is they do not have work hours in 2-years in a long term care setting. Are you searching to obtain a CMT certification? A CMT certification cannot administer medications in a long term care setting. I hope this information was helpful.
